The Anglo Celtic Plate 2026 will take place within the grounds of the University of Limerick on Saturday, March 21st.
Athletics Ireland will be selecting a self-funded team of up to five men and five women to represent Ireland in the Anglo Celtic Plate Home International. This event serves as a key developmental opportunity, preparing athletes for future competition at European and World Championships.
Athletics Ireland will cover the entry fee and provide official team kit.
Performances must have been achieved within the past year, supported by recent performance indicators. Preference will be given to athletes with proven experience at the 100km distance.
Selection Criteria
- Athletes must be a member of an AAI affiliated club
- Athletes must hold a valid Irish Passport
- Athletes must demonstrate current competitive form
- Athletes must be injury free
Qualification Standards

| Sub 7:30 | 100K | Sub 8:45 |
| Sub 3:10 | 50K | Sub 3:45 |
| Sub 2:30 | Marathon | Sub 2:55 |
*Or other equivalent ultra-distance experience (over different distances & surfaces) which the selection panel believe demonstrates form and ability to achieve these standards
Athletics Ireland 100K National Championships.
The Anglo Celtic Plate will also incorporate the Athletics Ireland 100km Championships as part of the Open Race. Athletes competing in the Open Race will be eligible for National Championship medals, provided they are registered members of an Athletics Ireland affiliated club.
