World Schools Cross-Country championships 2008 held in the Czech Republic on Thursday. Douglas CS finished in 11th place and 6th European country. World Schools Cross Country ResultsMountain Running Ireland finished fourth in the women’s and men’s teams in Knockdhu. In the men’s race our first finisher was Peter O’Farrell (Rathfarnham) in seventh. Peter was prominent towards the front throughout the race. Ross Alexander (Coolquill) was next home in 14th and Colm Mullen (Bray Runners) was 18th. In the women’s race, Aoife Joyce (Crusaders) led the team home in 12th after a close battle with Karen Duggan (Clonliffe) during the first half of the race.
