The Athletics Ireland Juvenile Committee are pleased to announce that they are bringing an U17 Development Team to the Scottish Championships in Grangemouth, Scotland on the weekend of 22nd – 24th of August 2025. These championships are an excellent opportunity for our young athletes to gain vital experience in an international setting outside of Ireland and help them to gain confidence to reach their goals.
Selection Criteria
Athletes will be selected from our National U17 Championships in Tullamore in the events that are relevant to the events held at the Scottish U17 Championships.
The winning athlete of each relevant event will be offered a place on our U17 team and must complete an acceptance form at the time of their medal ceremony at the National Championships to ensure their place on the team. They must be in possession of a current passport to be able to travel outside the country and receive signed parental/guardian permission.
If the winning athlete does not wish to be selected, the next athlete may be offered that place. Therefore the 2nd placed athlete at our National U17 Championships also needs to complete the form at the medal ceremony if they wish to be considered for selection.
All selected athletes must travel with the team to and from the event.
Athletes who have qualified for EYOF will not be considered for this International.
