National Indoor League Finals

Clonliffe Harriers and Dundrum South Dublin AC took impressive victories in Saturday’s National Indoor League Final at the Sport Ireland National Indoor Arena in Abbotstown.

Clonliffe retained the title they had won in 2025, scoring a total of 95 points and winning six events. Craig Duffy got the club off to the perfect start with a 6.81 second clocking in the Men’s 60m, finishing ahead of the returning Mark Smyth (Raheny Shamrock AC) who ran 6.88 seconds.

Olympian Marcus Lawler also showed his class running 21.61 seconds for the North Dublin club in the 200m, claiming the maximum nine points.

The Men’s 1500m was a particularly thrilling race as Juan Ignacio Pena (Raheny Shamrock AC) got the better of Oisin Davis (Craughwell AC) by one hundredth of a second, Pena running a time of 4:07.58.

In the field events, Eoin Sheridan (Clonliffe Harriers) won the Men’s Shot Put with a best throw of 14.52 metres.

Leevale AC had two impressive field event wins as Sam Healy (Long Jump, 7.09m) and Conor Callinan (Pole Vault, 4.20m) earned maximum points for the Cork club.

The minor podium places were hotly contested, Dundrum South Dublin AC (80 points) won bronze, just two points ahead of Ratoath AC in fourth (78 points). Nenagh Olympic AC were a further two points clear of Dundrum South Dublin winning silver (82 points).

The Dundrum South Dublin AC women’s team won five events on their way to the title. Similarly to the Clonliffe men, their day got off to the perfect start as Mollie O’Reilly won the Women’s 60m in 7.47 seconds.

In the distance events the club also shined, Holly Carroll won the 1500m (4:36.44), while Ella Fennelly (9:48.85) won the 3000m by a huge margin.

Katie Doherty (Ratoath AC) won the 200m in 24.76 seconds, while clubmate and multi-eventer Enya Silkena won the 60m Hurdles in 8.76 seconds.

Silkena also impressed in the field, winning the High Jump with a best of 1.63m, before finishing second in the Shot Put throwing 11.88m. Lauren Callaghan (Finn Valley AC) continued her excellent season by winning the Long Jump with 6.15m.

In the battle for the other podium positions, Ratoath AC (91 points) finished second, while in their first year contesting the league, Dooneen AC (77 points) won bronze.
