Menapians AC are celebrating theIR 25th year in 2026 and will host special events every month to MARK THE OCCASION.
Menapians was formed in February 2001. Since then, the club has gone from strength to strength, increasing from 10 members to just under 300 at its peak a few years ago.
The club started out welcoming seniors only until 2005, when John Dempsey and Jimmy O’Neill proposed forming a juvenile section.
The Wexford-based club now covers all aspects of athletics, including juveniles, seniors and masters (35+) that compete in track and field, road, cross country and mountain running.

The women's masters team is a point of pride for their success in recent years
Membership includes those focused primarily on competitive athletics and those happy to compete at a less competitive level, while reaping the benefits of expert coaching.
The club’s Fit4Life sector is growing and offers a great introduction to running for those new to the sport. Menapians also have a strong cohort of parkrun regulars, and operate at various locations, including Rosslare Strand, Presentation School, Wexford and Enniscorthy Sports Hub.

The club covers all aspects of athletics
Members gathered in Slice Restaurant at Wexford Golf Club to enjoy a meal and reminisce on the seventh of February and in January they welcomed the Athletics Ireland Fit4Life Roadshow sponsored by McCabes Pharmacy to a training session, which saw almost 50 members get health advice and enjoy a hill training session.
For the remaining months of the year there are plans for dance classes, yoga sessions, track events, obstacle racing and many more events where they hope to blend athletics with social events to bring everyone together to celebrate as a club.

A memorable moment for the club was when David Hynes was declared a joint winner of the senior men's 200m title in 2014
