John O’Regan elected to IAU Executive Council

IAU Elected Committee 2025

Congratulations to John O’Regan who has been elected as IAU Director of Communications at the 2025 elections for the IAU Executive Council and Area Representatives for the term 2025-2029 that took place on Friday, October 17th 2025 before IAU 24H World Championships in Albi, France.

Results of the Elections

Nadeem Khan was re-elected as President, while Jacek Bedkowski and Robert Boyce assume new roles as Vice President and Treasurer, respectively. Hilary Walker was re-elected and continues as General Secretary. The Council welcomed new Director John O’Regan, alongside returning Directors Hilmy Aboud Said, Paco Rico and André Mingneau. The Area Representatives remain unchanged for Arturo Fabian Campanini Lopez and Solomon Ogba continuing in their roles as Americas and Africa Representative respectively, while Frank Kuo and John Pares join as new representatives for Asia & Oceania and Europe.

As the IAU embarks on this new term, President Nadeem Khan congratulated all council members on their new positions and expresses optimism for the future of the organization. He also acknowledges the invaluable contributions of the various commissions and committees within the IAU, whose hard work and dedication have significantly advanced the sport.
