Join the GOAL Mile – A Tradition of Solidarity and Community

2 December 2025

This festive season, we invite you to be part of something truly special: The GOAL Mile. For over 45 years, this simple yet powerful event has united communities across Ireland to walk or run a mile in solidarity with vulnerable people worldwide.

Why It Matters

GOAL has been responding to humanitarian crises in more than 60 countries since 1977. In 2024 alone, GOAL reached 12.5 million people across 14 countries, delivering lifesaving food, water, medicine, and shelter to families in the most challenging contexts – from conflict zones to disaster-hit regions.

By hosting or joining a GOAL Mile, you’re helping GOAL continue this vital work.

What Clubs Are Saying

“The GOAL Mile brought our community together – runners of all levels, families, and local residents – creating connections, showcasing our club, and inspiring new members, all while supporting GOAL’s vital work.”
— Rebecca Tighe, DSD Athletics Club

Last year, 14 athletic clubs proudly took part in the GOAL Mile. This year, we want to see even more clubs leading the way!

Why Your Club Should Join

  • Show leadership in community engagement
  • Promote health and fitness during the festive season
  • Help raise vital funds – 94% of every euro goes directly to relief and development
  • Be part of a tradition that unites clubs, schools, and communities across Ireland

🎁 Extra incentive: Clubs that participate in GOAL Mile 2025 will be entered into a draw to win €2,000 – a great boost for your club!
