Kate O'Connor Nominated for 2025 Women's European Athlete of the Year

Kate O’Connor has been shortlisted for the prestigious 2025 European Women’s Athlete of the Year award.

O’Connor’s nomination comes after a phenomenal season where she claimed:

  • 🥈 Silver in the heptathlon at the World Championships
  • 🥈 Silver in the pentathlon at the World Indoor Championships
  • 🥉 Bronze in the pentathlon at the European Indoor Championships
  • 🥇 World University Games gold medallist in heptathlon

Her consistency across major global events has made her one of the standout multi-event athletes in Europe this year – and now she’s in the running for one of the continent’s top honours.

Voting is open to the public and forms part of a four-way decision process:

  • Media vote (25%)
  • European Athletics expert panel vote (25%)

Voting closes ahead of the Golden Tracks awards ceremony, which takes place on 25 October in Batumi, Georgia, where the winners will be officially crowned.
