Olympian Sarah Lavin has come fifth in her 100mH semi-final at the World Championships in Oregon during the early hours of this morning (Mon 25th July 2022). The World Indoor Championship Finalist featured in the final of three womens 100mH semi-finals, crossing the line in fifth with a time of 12.87, just outside of her PB 12.84.

The Emerald AC Star secured her place in the semi-finals on Day 9 of the Championships, with an automatic qualification coming third in her heat with a time of 12.99.

In the opening semi-final of the women’s 100mH, there was a new World Record from Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan of 12.12. The semi-finals were hotly contested, with some of the worlds top hurdle athletes setting national records and personal best performances throughout each semi-final, as they battled it out to secure a place in the World Championship final.

Lavin came seventh in the finals of the World Indoor Championships in Belgrade in March this year, her debut at the World Championship competition. The Emerald AC star had terrific performance at Indoor Championships, breaking the barrier to set a new indoor PB of 7.97 in her semi-final.

The Olympian will now move her attention to the European Championships next month in Munich.
