On International Day of the Girl the WIS Leadership programme concluded in Dublin.
16 women from clubs across the country were selected through a strong application process. The blended course was delivered over 5 week with on-line sessions and an in-person workshop concluding the programme.
The course included leadership and personal development skills as well as guest speakers Karen Lewis (TI Board Member, Audit and Risk Committee of the OFI), Marie Gleeson (Leader in High Performing Environments), Irene Clark (Sports Educator, Mentor and Endurance Coach), and Athletics Ireland President Brid Golden. Each week focused on a different leadership skill setting it in practical scenarios relating to club and committee environments.
This highly acclaimed course is delivered by Sarah O Shea and Lisa Clancy and funded through Sport Ireland. This course is supporting female leaders in our clubs and delivers on the Athletics Ireland’s Women in Sport Policy to grow female leadership at all levels of our sport.
Well done to all the women who took part this year and the clubs who are supporting them.
