What is Mastering Midlife?

A practical, evidence-based workshop for athletes and coaches navigating perimenopause and menopause.

Midlife doesn’t mean the end of performance — but it does mean your body plays by different rules. This session will help you understand what’s changing, why things can suddenly feel harder, and how to adapt your training so you can keep running, racing and feeling like yourself again.

✔ Women who run, train or compete and are noticing midlife changes
✔ Coaches working with female athletes in their 40s, 50s and beyond
✔ Active women who want to train well, stay strong and avoid burnout or injury

Hormones & midlife

  • What perimenopause and menopause actually are
  • How hormones affect energy, recovery, sleep, mood and performance
  • How to tell the difference between training issues and hormonal ones

Training through midlife

  • Why what used to work often stops working
  • How to adjust volume, intensity and recovery
  • How to structure your training year in a midlife body
  • The role of strength training for performance and injury prevention

Nutrition that supports your training

  • How to fuel for energy, recovery and body composition
  • Nutrition for bone health and muscle
  • How hormonal changes affect how you use food

Recovery, sleep & stress

  • Why recovery matters more now
  • How sleep and stress impact training and injury risk
  • Simple, practical ways to restore energy
