Thrilling relays round out Juvenile indoors
A host of thrilling relay races rounded out the third, and final, day (April 6), of action of the Irish Life Health Juvenile Indoor Championships in Athlone IT.
Pictures paint a thousand words, none more so than Callum Oliphant celebrating MSB’s win in the under-17 boys’ 4x200m relay.
Other celebrations included Dooneen AC girls’ winning the under-15 4x200m with Finn Valley winning the under-15 boys’ 4x200m.
There were plenty of fine individual performances too. Lystus Ebosele (D.M.P. A.C.) won the U19 shot put with 11.64m while Ciara Sheehy (Emerald A.C.) and Casey Mulvey (Inny Vale A.C.) impressed in respective GU18 and GU17. Sheehy won the U18 shot with 14.58m while Mulvey won the U17 with 14.75m.
Jack Ryan (Moycarkey Coolcroo A.C.) won the boys’ U19 shot with 14.10m while Gergely Pap (St. Pauls A.C.) won the U18s with 14.13m with Jack Forde (St. Killian's A.C.) winning the U17s with 12.90m.
Wymin Sivakumar (Leevale) continues to progress in the triple jump and won the U18 boys’ competition with 13.31m. Aisling Cassidy (Leevale A.C.) won the U19 girls’ triple with 11.57m.
Some of the long jump winners included Danny Kelly (Belgooly A.C.), boys’ U16 winner with 5.88m, and Hannah Moriarty (Lucan Harriers A.C.) who won the U15 girls’ with 5.07m.
