Steeplechase Squad Day - Louth Fixtures - AAI and Leinster Combined Events - Results STEEPLECHASE SQUAD DAY. Athletes and Coaches are invited to a Steeplechase Squad Day to be held at Irishtown Stadium on Saturday May 24th starting at 11 am. The day will consist of a Training Session and a talk on training for the Steeplechase with UK Coach Dave Sunderland. Athletes and Coaches currently participating in the event or who wish to acquire more information On the event are welcome to attend. Athletics Ireland and Athletics Leinster Combined Event ChampionshipsFull details including directions to track The Louth County Board are hosting a series of open track events at the new 6-lane tartan track facility located at Bush School, Riverstown, Co. Louth (on the Cooley Peninsula). The dates and events are: 23rd May 100m, 800m, 5000m 6th June 200m, 1500m, 3000m 20th June 100m, 400m, 1500 4th July 200m, 800m, 3000m Each night will start at 7:00 PM and the cost is 2 euro per event. We would also like to extend an invitation to any AAI-registered athlete that would like to take part in our Junior/Senior/Masters Championships which will be held on Wednesday 16th of July The Ulster Schools Track & Field Championships took place on Friday 16th and Saturday 18th at Antrim Forum where it was slightly windy but dry. Gaby McNally continues to hammer out great performances with a 45.35 on the Friday evening at the schools setting a new record. However, she went on to better the Commonwealth Youth Standard by over a meter with a 48.18 at the AAI League on Sunday, also at Antrim. The only other record broken was Adam Ingram in the 1500m. Having won the 800m by 40m, he added the 1500m again winning by a tremendous distance- Adam had finished as the Monaghan twins entered the home straight. Hannah Todd jumped 11.79 in the triple jump to head the UK rankings at U17 this year and must have Sharon Oakes NI U20 record of 11.93 in her sights. Hannah easily added the 100m title in the afternoon. Tamara Boyle who was the winner of the Foyle Primary Schools last year did a 100m and 800m double in the minor girls. Hannah Lewis was an easy winner in the 200m with a time of 24.93. Ciara Mageean had a comfortable win in the 1500m after a period of enforced rest due to a chest infection. Emma Doherty produced a terrific performance in the 2000mm walk to sit on a new PB by nearly ½ minute. Joanna Mills was a double winner over 300m and had to jump 3cm short of her best in the final round of the Long Jump to clinch victory jumping 5.53m. In the Inter boys, Curtis Woods clinched the double in the 200m and 400m. Ciaran Dolan did a double in the jumps however there is more to come from Ciaran as he has jumped better in training. Jason Harvey won the Senior 400m in 49.50 while Ben Reynolds did the double in the hurdles and High Jump beating Gary Coulter in the latter event. Ulster Schools T&F Results
