Athletics Ireland are delighted with the announcement from Sport Ireland that we have been awarded €110,000 in Women in Sport Funding. The funding matches the record breaking amount we received last year with an additional €16,500 in collaborative projects with Swim Ireland, Cycling Ireland, Triathlon Ireland, Rowing Ireland and Squash Ireland.
We would like to thank the Minister for Culture, Communications and Sport Patrick O’Donovan T.D., Minister for Sport and Postal Policy, Charlie McConalogue T.D., Sport Ireland CEO, Dr Úna May and all in Sport Ireland for their continued support.
The Athletics Ireland Women in Sport Policy focuses on four key development areas: coaching and officiating, leadership, active participation and visibility. In 2025 we will continue to deliver policies and programmes in these areas to support our clubs and members.
Anna Grealish, Women in Sport Lead for Athletics Ireland said ‘I am excited about the opportunity this funding investment represents for women in sport. It is great to see the support from sport Ireland for our programmes and a testimony to the great work Athletics Ireland are doing in the women in sport space’
