Excellent conditions at Irishtown There were several excellent performances at the AAI Games / National Relays held in conjunction with the GV Ryan / Louis Vandendries inter club competition at Irishtown last evening. Weather conditions were excellent and several athletes had new PB’s to take home with them. The first competition of the evening was the men’s 400m hurdles which turned out to be a cracker. Jeremy Lyons and Jonathan Miller have both shown good early season form in the past few weeks and their performance promises some further thrilling contests as the season progresses. Little separated them as they raced around the track and they cleared the final hurdle together. They both dug deep in the run to the line with Lyons just edging ahead for a good win with a new PB. Marion Andrews was never headed as she raced to victory in the 400m, winning with a new PB of 55.15. The men’s 400m was a much closer affair with Simon Taggart just edging out junior Billy Ryan.
