Ulster Team of 20 Will Head to Celtic Cross Country International - Thursday, January 10, 2008 Athletics Northern Ireland have announced the following Ulster team for the the Celtic Nations Cross Country Match on Saturday 12th January 2008 – Edinburgh, Scotland. Paul Pollock U23M Conor Flanagan U23M Brendan Teer U23M Judi Graham U23F Sarah Magowan U23F Andrew Gourley U20M Andrew Doherty U20M Noel Collins U20M Eimear Black U20F Susan Smyth U20F Michelle English U20F Rachel Gibson U20F Cian O'Reilly U17M Adam Ingram U17M Ryan McDermott U17M Conor McQuaid U17M Ciara Mageean U17F Joanne Mills U17F Catherine Mullan U17F Katie Kirk U17F Team Managers Joe Quinn & Brendan McDaid Elaine McCaffrey & Evelyn O’Reilly Many of the athletes were involved in the Belfast International Cross Country which provided them with competition before this weekend's big international. Ciara Mageean was the clear winner in the U17 section beating her older under 20 counterparts. Eimear Black and Adam Ingram also had successful races at Stormont. An ULSTER team was selected for the Celtic International Cross Country on the 12th January 2008 in Edinburgh instead of a Northern Ireland team as was previously the case. The event is one of a number taking place in the Holyrood park including the Tesco Junior Great Winter Run and the Great Edinburgh International X Country which is once again expected to attract the worlds best elite athletes to take part in what is widely regarded by many as the best non championship cross country event in the world.
