Kate O'Connor is an Irish multi-sport athlete, active in the heptathlon and modern pentathlon. O'Connor competed for Northern Ireland at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, finishing eighth in the heptathlon. She won a silver in the heptathlon at the 2019 European Athletics U20 Championships in BorĂ¥s, Sweden, and in doing so became the first female heptathlete to medal for Ireland. The performace also earned her a new Irish Record, her total of 6,093 points also smashing the existing Irish senior record - the first time any Irish woman has surpassed 6,000 points. O'Connor will begin a course of study at the Sheffield Hallam University in 2019.
