Limerick and Kerry Jumps Workshops 2017

POSTED:

Saturday the 11th and Sunday the 12th saw Jumps Workshops take place in both Limerick and Kerry at the weekend.

These workshops specifically focused on the long jump, high jump and triple jump.

40 athletes from County Clare, Limerick and Tipperary came together to participate in the workshop alongside their eager coaches. The workshop was aimed at both junior athletes and developmental athletes who wished to avail of expert guidance through shared jumping knowledge. Athletes had the opportunity to improve their technical aspects of jumping. In Limerick, the event was supported by Yvonne Meredith of Rathkeale A.C, National Jumps Co-ordinator Pat Power, David Murphy IAAF Level 4 jumps coach and Rosie Daniels 3-time national champion.

The Kingdom Workshop worked in conjunction with The Kerry County Performance Squad, which saw over 30 athletes get involved in all three jumping events!

There was a lot of positive feedback from the club coaches and it was noted that both athletes and coaches were happy to know they were jumping in the right direction! The workshops introduced some additional coaching cues, drills and exercises to take home to their clubs, which hopefully aid and support club structures going forward!
