We had a Fresh start to the day, rising at 7.30am, some of us more fresh than others. It wasn't just a regular day in Costa del Athlone. We walked to the track with the sun beating on our backs. There, the relay girls worked on their emerging six packs, before the word "hand" echoed through AIT as the girls and boys worked on their Baton changes. The girls were in a league of their own in this case!! Each team picked up the pace as the batons flew swiftly between the athletes. Roseanna and Phoebe's handovers proved the most promising! Karen motivated the teams not to end the session until the baton changeovers were perfected.

Game of Cards!

Some of our throwers tried a different event… whilst the long hurdlers battled through the wind over the barriers. Leaving the track for a break at 12.30, our lunch was influenced by Peter Francis who had taught us how important good nutrition habits were the previous day. After Lunch, we decided to relax in the corridor to play a game of cards, but that was not the case! When the Cards came out, the competitive personalities of the athletes did too!! A very lively, intense game followed right up until we headed to dinner. We are now waiting on the highly anticipated table quiz that will commence tonight. Who will be this year’s champions? Watch this space!!
