IRISH LIFE DUBLIN MARATHON AND ATHLETICS IRELAND SIGN MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING

The Irish Life Dublin Marathon and Athletics Ireland have recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding to reinforce their joint commitment to continue their close working relationship.

For many years, the Athletics Ireland National Marathon Championship has been facilitated within the Irish Life Dublin Marathon and this relationship will continue going forward.

The Irish Life Dublin Marathon continues to generously support the Irish Championship individual and team prize fund together with time bonuses for exceptional Irish athlete performances. This prize fund together with additional Marathon Mission support will ensure Irish endurance athletes are supported to compete with the best in the World.

Athletics Ireland High Performance Director, Paul McNamara notes “The Irish Life Dublin Marathon is a world class event in every respect and the opportunity for our elite endurance athletes to perform in their own back yard is incredible. We look forward to working even more closely with Dublin Marathon to support our international endurance group through Marathon Mission.”

Close to 300,000 spectators will line the streets of Dublin for this fantastic event and the economic impact of the event is very significant to the Dublin economy.
