Sliabh Ban club news from Roscommon

POSTED:

Sliabh Ban A.C is based in Strokestown covering local areas in County Roscommon. In this strange unfamiliar and disrupted time to our lives, the Sliabh Ban A.C community have delivered motivation, positivity, support and encouragement to promote exercise routines, connectivity, personal challenges and greater wellbeing to all its members by utilising the club expertise. This support and motivation continues into our new year with new virtual training plans delivered by our coaches and training officers to meet all levels of ability of the Sliabh Ban members.

Our runners’ continue to keep active by completing virtual races from 5km to marathon supporting races throughout the Country. The 2021 registration is now open and welcome new applications along with returning runners and walkers. We have a high intake from previous members and those returning to running as well as a group of new members, who are all very welcome. Our traditional St Stephen’s day run, jog, walk, shuffle, and took place a few weeks ago.

With a great attendance and festive spirit it was a cracking start to St Stephen’s day, some were cracking more than others!! But it was a great treat to meet friends over the beautiful terrain that surrounds our club in Strokestown, County Roscommon.

Looking ahead, Sliabh Ban will host the annual 10km road race in June 2021. The virtual 10km road race last year was a tremendous success and we are hoping for the same again as June and the longer days arrive in 2021. With running sports increasing Strokestown are looking forward to seeing their membership grow further; contact us via our social media channels today!
