Sprint Relay Workshop Athlone IT

POSTED:

  • Event: Sprint Relay Workshop Athlone IT
  • Date: Sunday 7th April 2019
  • Time: 10am - 1pm
  • Location: Athlone IT Arena

Athletics Ireland RDO Paul Byrne will host a Sprint Relay Workshop for coaches on Sunday April 7th at Athlone IT Arena from 10am – 1pm.

This workshop will be lead and delivered by Karen Kirk who guided the Irish women's 4 x 100m relay team to their historic world junior silver medal in 2018. Karen has worked with relays from youth right through to senior level and encourages those coaching relays at club and schools level to attend.

Relays are an important part of our LTAD model and can implemented as part of any training session with many different variants. For example, in recent seasons the national relay programme has made positive progress. The 2018 season alone saw six national teams compete at major championships. Three national records were achieved by the U20 Women’s 4 x 100m, U20 Men’s 4 x 100m and Senior Women’s 4 x 100m.

Registration fee is €10 per coach. More information/Registration for this workshop can be found via the following link HERE

Places are limited so please register to book you slot
