123.ie Summer Camps Officially Launched
RUN, JUMP, AND THROW IS AS EASY AS 123 AT 2023 ATHLETICS SUMMER CAMPS!
Multi-event stars Lara O’Byrne and Alex Ademola today launched the 123.ie ‘Ready-Steady-Go’ Athletics Summer Camps which will take place in counties across Ireland this summer. Registration is now open for the camps which provide boys and girls aged 6-12 with the chance to be active and have fun while trying out the three main athletics disciplines of running, jumping, and throwing!
Children will get the opportunity to try activities including sprinting, javelin throwing, hurdles, shot putt, long jump, and relays. This range of activities helps children to develop the fundamental movement skills of agility, balance, and co-ordination. There is the added benefit that these skills also form an ideal base for all other sporting activity.
Speaking at the announcement, Lara O’Byrne, who is looking forward to a big outdoor season in the Heptathlon said: “The athletics camps will provide children with a chance to develop many aspects of their physical abilities, such as speed, agility, and balance. They’ll also enjoy the fun and excitement in being part of a team for relay games and challenges.”
Rising multi-event star Alex Ademola said: “The ‘Ready Steady Go’ summer camps are a great opportunity for children to try the different athletics disciplines in a fun and supportive environment, so I encourage anyone interested to get signed up with their local camp today!’

Over 20 ‘Ready Set Go’ Summer Camps will take place in 13 counties across the country. To book a place for your child go to registration at athleticsireland.ie/clubs/summercamps.
Early booking is recommended to avoid disappointment.
Camps are open to children aged 6 - 12 and are priced at €65 for one week with a €10 discount for each additional family member, the camp begins on a Monday and runs right through to Friday with it starting at 10am and finishing at 2pm daily. On the final day of each camp, every child will be presented with a medal in recognition of their efforts. Each child will go home with a T-Shirt, backpack, and more.
