IRISH WOMEN’S 4X400M RELAY TEAM CONFIRMED FOR EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL

Irish team management have confirmed the team that will race in tonight’s (June 12th) final of the Women’s 4x400m Relay at the European Athletics Championships in Rome.

Sophie Becker (Raheny Shamrock AC) will once again lead out the team, passing the baton to Rhasidat Adeleke (Tallaght AC) who dons the green singlet for the fourth time in these championships.

Adeleke will hand over to Phil Healy (Bandon AC), before Sharlene Mawdsley (Newport AC), who is running for the fifth time this week, anchors the team home.

The race gets underway at 8:05pm tonight Irish Time in the iconic Stadio Olimpico and will be live on RTÉ2.

Also in action will be Efrem Gidey (Clonliffe Harriers), Cormac Dalton (Mullingar Harriers), Barry Keane (Waterford AC), Peter Lynch (Kilkenny City Harriers) and Brian Fay (Raheny Shamrock AC) who all race in the Men’s 10,000m final at 8:44pm.

Andrew Coscoran (Star of the Sea AC) rounds out the Irish involvement at the championships when he goes in the Men’s 1500m final at 9:26pm.
