Run Jump Throw Workshops

POSTED:

RDO Paul Byrne is delighted to run another series of coaching workshops in Galway off the back of a very successful pilot in Dangan in September of last year. Please see poster for details on events covered each of the evenings.

Dates:

Weeks 1 & 2: Feb 20th & 27th Craughwell Athletics Facility, Craughwell Co. Galway 6pm – 8pm

Week 3: March 6th St Brigid's College, Loughrea, Co. Galway 6pm - 8pm

AIM: To upskill developmental coaches in a range of different events and to promote a multi event approach to their athletes in clubs, schools etc. In line with Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) it is important for both athlete and coach to understand the benefits of coaching and participating in a number of different events before specialising.

FORMAT: The workshops are delivered over the course of three consecutive weeks with two different events covered on each evening. Each event will be designated 1 hr. Meet at 6pm SHARP at each of the venue.

CONTENT: Learn and improve on the basics of each of the event groups (Sprints, Hurdles, HJ, LJ, Shot, Javelin). We will also get the athletes doing the event and look at common faults and how to correct. Each coach will receive a RJT document outlining the topics covered each week emailed to them after each session.

This course is aimed at coaches who have completed either a Level 1 or assistant coach course but anyone can attend.

COST: €25 for all three workshops or €10 for one workshop.
