Clonliffe Harriers and Dundrum South Dublin win GolHealth National League Final
Clonliffe Harriers men and Dundrum South Dublin women were crowned GloHealth National League Premier Division champions in Tullamore.
Clonliffe Harriers dominated throughout the day and picked up valuable wins from Declan Murray in the 800m in 1:51.99, Timmy Crowe in the 400m in 49.24 and Ian Rogers in the pole vault in 4.60m. They scored a total of 129 points. Tipperary County were second on 99 points and St Abban's were third on 96.
DSD premier women's club
Dundrum South Dublin also had too much for their rivals and scored a total of 102 points. Leevale had to settle for second with Clonliffe Harriers in third.
SInead Denny won the 200m in 25.05 (+1.7) and Anita White scored a double victory in the javelin and shot put with respective marks of 43.92m and 10.74m. Maria McCambridge also scored valuable points in the 800m and the 3,000m. She finished third in the 800m in 2:20.84 won by Wexford County's Fiona Kehoe in 2:16.24 and second in the 3,000m in 10:00.14. Leevale's Michelle Finn pulled away in the last 600m to win impressively iin 9:53.71.
Mawsdley leads Premier County to promotion
Sharlene Mawdsley delivered a classy sprints double for Tipperary County winning the 100m in 11.81 (+3.5) and 200m in 24.39 (+2.8) . Kelly Ann Doyle also delivered on the double in the 100m hurdles and the 400m hurdles recording 15.07 (+2.1) and 64.97.
Kilkenny on the up
Kilkenny City Harriers triumphed in the men's Division 1 section with a host of top results with Michael Bowler Brendan Hyland and Gary Halpin among those taking maximum points. Bowler won the pole vault with 4.20m, Hyland won the javelin with a throw of 50.77m and Halpin won the hammer with 47.70m.
