Can you feel the temperature rising? That's because this week's 5-minute interviewee is pure distilled sunshine for the soul - and coming from a land that averages 225 days of rain a year that is no mean feat! The Irish may be famed for their luck, but there is nothing lucky about this girl's achievements! There just ain't no hurdle high enough for this bubbly blonde competitor, whose not afraid to fall down, cry a while and get back up fighting - a formula that's won her numerous Irish records, a European silver and a World Indoor gold! Yet she is far from a case of all work and no play! This is a girl as comfortable in her pyjamas as her training gear; a ‘girly girl' who loves chocolate, and lattes, and shopping with her mates, but with the strength of character and intellect of a woman who harbours great ambitions to improve the world... perhaps as Ireland's next Prime Minister!! Yes athletics aficionados it's the weekend again, so rub the sleep from your eyes, and switch your coffee to decaf as this interviewee's energy is contagious! It's time to spend the next five minutes with Ireland's happiest hurdler... Derval O'Rourke. Click here to spend the next 5-minutes with Derval O'Rourke.
