Anglo Celtic Plate 100k Home International: Team Selection 2023

Athletics Ireland are delighted to announce a strong team of eleven athletes to compete at the Anglo Celtic Plate 100k on April 02nd 2023 at South Lake Leisure Centre, Craigavon, Co. Armagh, BT64 1AS.

Women:

• Tricia McLoughlin - Le Cheile AC (Team Captain)
• Deirdre Martin – Carrick on Shannon AC
• Anne Jennings –Dublin Bay Running Club
• Lorraine McMahon – Wexford Marathon Club
• Christine Kinsella – Brothers Pearse AC

Men

• Barry McCarroll – Slieve Gullion Runners.
• Alex O’Shea – St Finbarrs AC
• Ciaran McGonagle – Letterkenny AC
• Ian Fitzgerald – Donore Harriers AC
• Adrian McNamara – Mayo AC
• Louis Coyne – Galway City Harriers

For developmental purposes the following athletes will be entered by Athletics Ireland as individuals.

• Peter Thompson - Belfast Association of Rock climbers and Fell Runners (BARF)
• Wayne Waldron – Donore Harriers
• Ricki Wynne – Drumshambo AC

The Anglo Celtic Plate 100k Home International plays an important role in developing athletes at distances beyond the Marathon and to prepare athletes for future opportunities at European and World Championships.   This year has seen the highest number of applications to date and is proof of the growing interest in Ultra Running.  The Anglo Celtic Plate will also incorporate the Athletics Ireland 100Km Championships as part of an Open Race.  Athletes in the Open Race will also be eligible for National Championship Medals once they are registered members of an Athletics Ireland affiliated club.
