Santry and Athlone Set for National League Round 2

This weekend sees Ireland’s top domestic athletes competing for their clubs in Round Two of the National League. Competition between the clubs is fierce with only 8 teams per division qualifying for the National League Finals.

Premier

 After Round One, Dundrum South Dublin AC women’s team are in the lead in the women’s premier division with a total of 115 points. St Abban’s AC(Laois) is leading the men’s premier division with 124 points with Clonliffe Harriers AC (Dublin) hot on their heels with 123 points.

Division 1

 In the women’s division 1 competition, Meath Athletics are out in front of the pack with 116 points while in the men’s section Donore Harriers(Dublin) are on top of the table with 131 points. Youghal AC(Cork) are close behind in the men’s division 1 standings looking got knock Donore off the top spot with 127 points going into the Round 2.

Venues

Round 2 has the competition split between Morton Stadium in Santry and Athlone Institute of Technology. All the clubs will be looking for this weekend’s results to place them in a better position to qualify for the finals on the 3rd of August in Tullamore.

Qualification for the final is by total number of points scored over the two rounds with the top 8 team from each division progressing to the final.
