Walkers in action at the 'Dudince 50' meet in Slovakia
David Kenny of Farranfore Maine Valley AC put in a personal best performance over the weekend with a 1.23.06 in the Men's 20k Walk in Slovakia on Saturday March 20th. Kenny finished with a 1 second PB at the European Grand Prix event which sees him maintain his top 60 ranking as he works towards Olympic qualification. The time saw Kenny cross the line in 12th place in an impressive field.
Alex Wright of Leevale AC continued his Tokyo preperation with a win at the same 'Dudince 50' meet. Wright secured first place in the 35k Walk in a time of 2.36.29 ahead of Bilodeau of Canada in 2.39.
Kate Veale of West Waterford AC was also in action, finishing 22nd in a race which saw a number of high class athletes take to the start-line. Veale crossed the finish in 1.38.40.
Emily McHugh of Naas AC also looked in impresive form, finishing in 10th place in the Women's 10k in a time of 50:33 which was just outside her personal best.
