DAY 6 - EUROPEAN 4X400M RELAY FINAL: TEAM SELECTIONS

The women’s 4x400m relay team has been confirmed for tomorrow’s European Athletics final, with all four of today’s national record-breaking team selected once more.

The team selected is:

1. Sophie Becker
2. Phil Healy
3. Rhasidat Adeleke
4. Sharlene Mawdsley

The women’s 4x400m relay team secured their place in tomorrow’s final with an impressive 3.26.06 NR earlier today. They will likely need to go even faster to get amongst the medals in another quality field, but a favourable lane 5 draw and a team full of talent is sure to have them right there in contention come the final changeover. The final is set for 8.45pm tomorrow (Irish time).

• 7.43pm Women’s 100mH Heats: *Sarah Lavin advances to Sunday’s semi-final as one of the top 12 ranked athletes.
• 8.45pm Women’s 4x400m Final: Team Ireland (Sophie Becker, Phil Healy, Rhasidat Adeleke, Sharlene Mawdsley)
• 9.13pm Women’s 3000m Steeplechase Final: Michelle Finn
