National 20k Championships

Great Athletics Ireland 20 klms championships today in Leeds held in conjunction with the British Grand Prix of Race Walking. 

Cian McManamon was crowned champion after a titanic struggle with David Kenny. 50 klms specialist Breandán O'Buadhaigh claimed the Bronze medal 

David Kenny becomes the fastest 20 year old over this distance in Ireland and looks forward to European under 23 championships in 2 week's time where a top 10 finish is on his radar.  He and McManamen today also gained valuable points in their quest for Olympic qualification
