Fit4Life participants enjoying a run - Sportsfile The Fit4Life Programme is designed to give people the opportunity to get fit and enjoy walking/running in structured environment. Participants set their own goals and are assisted by the trained Fit4Life leaders in the clubs. The emphasis is on improving fitness in a fun, sociable environment and no previous experience is required. All ability levels are catered for and participants exercise with others of a similar fitness level. How It Works A qualified Fit4Life leader sets out a schedule suitable for your needs. The training nights feature group runs, with each group composed of people with similar fitness levels. Clubs provide runners/walkers with items such as safety vests for night runs, gloves and running diaries. Fit4Life Leader The Athletics Ireland Development team provides Fit4Life Leader courses to train individuals to lead the groups. This course takes about 3 hours and provides outlines on how to organise, promote and develop the group. Details of courses can be obtained from your local RDO.
